The NPTC IT Academy became an official Microsoft Program member in January 2007 and has grown in size to offer a vast range of both Microsoft and specialist quality courses covering modules such as programming; web design, accounts; digital photography and many others, all over the country.
All training is provided within high quality IT suites, tailor made for a professional, relaxed atmosphere with competent, and highly qualified professional lecturers of computing.
The majority of our courses are intensive one and two days in length, allowing the learner to put into practice what he or she has learnt and utilising it immediately outside of the classroom.
However E-learning is also available enabling the learner to study at a pace to suit within their own home.
"The Microsoft IT Academy program enables academic learning institutions to connect the world of education to the world of work by enabling faculty and students to acquire new technology skills in an academic setting. Microsoft IT Academies benefit from world-class Microsoft curriculum and cutting-edge software tools to experience real-world challenges in the classroom environment." www.microsoft.com/education/msitacademy

In June 2008 Diane Robinson, NPTC IT Academy Co-ordinator was invited to attend the Microsoft Parliamentary Reception for Skills, hosted by the UK Minister for Skills David Lammy MP, at the House of Commons in London. David Lammy MP gave an inspiring speech about the provision of quality IT teaching and training across the UK and its value in today's ever changing work force.
"As well as the opportunity to visit the House of Commons, I was able to talk with other members of Parliament, policy makers and other Microsoft Program Members about the progress made by our students, and plan decisive steps towards developing and delivering the successful future of our own IT Academy."
